2011: The year between 2010 and 2012

The year of 2011 is coming to a close. It was a year I sat on the couch a little less than the last. It was a year without my beloved Honda Accord, and the first entire year spent with my new bride Lisa.

In 2011 I didn’t hit a single drumbeat, but I did put back drinks a few musical icons and made some cool new friends. It was a year in which I paid way too much in taxes to both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It was the year I turned 33, Lisa turned 28 and Dad rolled into his sixth decade.

It was the year I got married.

It was the year of the hurricane, earthquake and my sister’s wedding.

It was the year I discovered Victory Hop Devil, the Barcade and Foster the People.

This year I finally finished my play (started in 2005) that nobody wants to see.

We went to Yellowstone this year and took Lisa backpacking for the first time. Hopefully we do it again.

It was a year in which I crossed the state of New Jersey nearly 500 times.

It could be my last year in America.

This was a year of prioritization. Family came first. Work came second. Fun came 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Lisa was placed above it all in a sweet ceremony on Nov. 22, 2011.

Have a tubular 2012 everybody!
